Golf Is Changing. Quietly.
What we designed for Team Swingers — and what it reminded us about why we started Athloun.

Over two decades in Indian menswear teaches you a great deal. I have worked across virtually every category the industry offers — formalwear, casual shirts, Friday dressing, occasion wear, polos, outerwear, knitwear, the full range. Brands that built their reputation on craft, on fabric quality, on getting the cut right for the Indian body and the Indian climate. What that breadth of experience gave me was not a specialisation. It gave me a perspective.
And the perspective, eventually, was this: somewhere along the way, the industry decided that “performance” was a synthetic problem with a synthetic solution. Polyester. Nylon. Fabric engineered in a lab, worn against skin, in Indian heat, for hours at a stretch. The category grew, the technology got more sophisticated, the marketing got louder — and nobody really stopped to ask whether there was a better starting point altogether.
When Renu and I started building Athloun, that was the question we kept coming back to. Not how to compete with synthetic performance wear. But how to make it unnecessary.
“The relationship between a person and what they wear is not superficial. It shapes how they carry themselves — in movement, in work, in everything in between.”
Sandip Sinha, Co-Founder & CEO, ATHLOUN
What we made for Team Swingers
When Team Swingers came to us ahead of KGA Premier League Edition 7, we designed their complete team kit — polos and caps — rooted entirely in Athloun’s plant-based performance philosophy.
The brief, as I saw it, was straightforward: golf is a long game. You are outdoors, in open sun, for four to five hours at a stretch. The kit needs to handle Indian heat without trapping it. It needs to stay fresh across a full round — and then some. It needs to look as composed at the 18th hole as it did at the first tee. And it needs to do all of that without putting synthetic fibre against skin all day.
Our fabrics — bamboo and modal, finished with plant-based chemistry — are built to answer exactly that brief. Breathable by the nature of the fibre, not because of a coating. UPF 50+ sun protection that is inherent to the material, not applied on top. Anti-microbial and odour-free in a way that holds up wash after wash, season after season. Soft against the body. Gentle on the planet.
UPF 50+ sun-safe · Anti-microbial · Odour-free · Breathable · Soft hand-feel · Zero virgin polyester
In a category almost entirely dominated by synthetic fabrics, we brought natural fibre onto the fairway. Engineered properly. Designed to perform.
The occasion — briefly
KGA Premier League Edition 7, Bengaluru — February 2026. South India’s largest amateur golf league — 24 teams, 432 players, competing across the Karnataka Golf Association course over a month-long season. Team Swingers wore Athloun throughout.
Why golf — and why this runs deeper than the game
Golf fits the Athloun story naturally. It demands physical presence and mental composure over an extended stretch of time — exactly the conditions where the quality of what you are wearing either supports you or quietly works against you. The game rewards precision, patience, and the refusal to cut corners. So does the fabric we build.
The people who play it tend to be deliberate about the choices they make. They notice detail. They value things made well and made honestly. But they are one part of a much larger community Athloun is here for — the person who plays a round on Sunday and goes straight to a client lunch, the one who travels three cities a week and needs clothes that move with them without announcing the effort, the one who simply wants to feel good in what they are wearing without that comfort coming at a cost to the planet.
That is who we are building for. The fairway is one of the places they show up. It is far from the only one.
“Performance is never compromised when you choose natural materials. It is only enhanced — through breathability, comfort, and a fabric that works with the body rather than against it.”
ATHLOUN
Part of something growing
KGA Premier League Edition 7 is the latest chapter in a relationship Athloun is building with India’s golf community. Earlier this year, we were the apparel partner for a landmark event further down the coast.

Two events. Two cities. The same conviction — that the Indian golfer deserves apparel that is genuinely good for him, built for how he plays and how he lives.
We are proud to have partnered with Team Swingers and the Karnataka Golf Association. And genuinely excited for what comes next.
